WOYWW

On my desk today is my new toy which arrived yesterday and I am in love with it already.
My new 'GRAND CALIBUR' finally arrived.  I had hoped it would have arrived for Christmas as it was a present, but due to the snow up here in Bonnie Scotland I had to wait long after Santa had been.  However I had a play with it last night and I love it already.  Only managed to have one set of the Grand dies so far but I know I will use it with all my other 'normal' sized dies.  You can cut so many dies at the one time and the cutting is excellent as is the embossing.  I can see my wee bug going for early retirement.  The downside is that you have to turn the handle alot to get the A4 plates through, but if I keep changing arms when I am doing it, my bingo wings might just disappear.
I would show you the rest of my desk but I was so excited with my new toy everything was pushed into a pile so I could play with it.
Maybe it was a good thing that it didn't arrvive before Christmas or my family just might not have been fed.
If you are wondering why I want to show off my desk, pop over to Julias to find out.

I'm back........................

Finally back in the land of blog, not been about much lately but life just took over.  I went back to work (on phased hours) the week before Christmas after being ill with my M.E. for 6 months so I have been a bit tired. I made about 70 Christmas cards this year and that was a feat in itself but last night I finally got back to my table and made a few cards. These are 2 cards I made for my Grandson to send as thank you cards. I made these with some 'Charlie's Ark' decoupage that I bought recently

The next card is for my Mum's 84th birthday next week, I just love Sarah Kay Images
I also had to make an engagement card for my Son's friends made with some Daisy and Dandelion decoupage.

I will see you all tomorrow for the weekly snoop around everyone's desks

CR84FN9 ....Colour Challenge

Today my new toy arrived.....My Grand Calibur.......Due to all the problems with the weather affecting the post, I feel that I have been waiting ages for it.  It was a Christmas present so I can't really complain.  It came with a set a nestabilities Grand Label 1 dies and label 1 dies so I had to have a play with it tonight.

I used the largest die and cut 2 labels which I joined together at the top and made a shaped card. It was so easy. Then I cut 2 more smaller labels from the grand set and used them to mat and layer.....The great thing was I could cut both at the same time in different colours.  The sandwich is much easier to put together also as there are only 3 in differnt colours so you can't really go wrong, and it also comes with the A4 embossing mat.  It is a lovely peice of kit and I can see me using it all the time even just for normal sized dies as you can cut and emboss so many at the one time.
So while I was playing with it I ended up with this.  I thought I would enter it into the CR84FN colour challenge which is Peach, yellow and pale pink.  Unfortunately the top layer which is peach is not showing as I really wanted, it looks more pink than the base card which actually looks lilac although it is pink (is anyone managing to follow this!!)
So entering in:.

A very late WOYWW

I am very late today but I do have a good reason.
a) it is my birthday so decided not to get up at crack of dawn to post this
b) I had a meeting at work to discuss my long term absence

So better late than never, yesterday I decided to have a major tidy up which due to my health issues took me longer than usual, and I also moved my table etc to a better position, mainly to stop my living room look so untidy, so my workdesk is tidier than usual.

And the view to the side

I have been making loads of Christmas cards so it ws nice to stop and do something a bit different. So here is my card from yesterday, a birthda card for one of my Son's friend's wife.

I used a Caron Vinson decoupage image I have had in my stash for a while and it was lovely to work with.

Thanks for visiting
